Scrotox (Scrotal Botox®)

Scrotox refers to the use of Botox® (or another neuromodulator such as Dysport®) injections in the scrotal skin to relax the underlying dartos muscle. Relaxation of the scrotal muscles can allow the skin to appear smoother and more relaxed, while also reducing muscle contraction that contributes to wrinkling, tightness, and discomfort. This treatment is often performed for both cosmetic and comfort-related concerns.

Potential benefits

Patients may seek Scrotox for:

  • A more relaxed appearance of the scrotum
  • Reduced sweating and moisture
  • Improved comfort during exercise or warm weather
  • Decreased tightness or contraction of scrotal skin
  • Relieving discomfort with ejaculation in particular

Procedure
Scrotox is a quick, minimally invasive procedure performed in the office. Using precise techniques, Botox is injected superficially into the scrotal skin to relax the underlying muscle fibers with minimal discomfort. The treatment generally takes about 10 minutes, and most patients tolerate it well.

Results and duration
Patients may begin to notice changes within several days, with full results typically visible within 1–2 weeks. Effects commonly last three to six months before gradual return of normal muscle activity.
