Botox for Erectile Dysfunction (ED)

Botox® (or another neuromodulator such as Dysport®) is increasingly being utilized as a potential treatment for certain forms of erectile dysfunction (ED). This therapy involves the use of a neuromodulator to relax smooth muscle tissue and increase blood flow within the penis. By temporarily reducing nerve signaling in targeted areas, neuromodulators may help facilitate improved blood circulation, which plays an important role in achieving and maintaining an erection.

Botox for ED may be considered for men who:

  • Experience mild to moderate erectile dysfunction
  • Have inadequate response to oral medications such as sildenafil (Viagra®) or tadalafil (Cialis®)
  • Have ED related to muscle tension or vascular factors

This treatment may be used alone or in combination with other ED therapies, depending on the patient’s individual needs.

Procedure:
The treatment is performed in the office and typically takes 10–15 minutes. Small intracavernosal injections are performed using precise techniques with minimal discomfort. Most patients tolerate the procedure well with no additional modifications required.

Recovery & Results:
There is generally no required downtime, and patients may resume most normal activities shortly after treatment. Initial results may begin to show within 1–2 weeks, with results typically lasting several months before another treatment may be considered.
